The league opened in Cleveland in 2025 and moved abroad within a year: Abu Dhabi follows a debut in Tbilisi and a sold-out night in Moscow. What sets the Abu Dhabi date apart is that it is not a visit. The Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi and the UAE Wrestling Federation signed a five-year agreement with the league, so the emirate is scheduled to host RAF every year through 2031, and November 14 is the first of those nights.

An evening of Real American Freestyle runs as a sequence of individual matches rather than as a bracket. Two wrestlers meet, the result stands on its own, and the night is built from those meetings — which is why the league calls the running order a card and not a draw. Freestyle scoring rewards movement: points come from takedowns, exposure and control, a match can turn in seconds, and a large enough lead ends it early. Etihad Arena stands in the Yas Bay quarter at the northern end of Yas Island, around 15 minutes by road from Zayed International Airport and roughly 30 kilometres from central Abu Dhabi. The building opened in 2021, holds about 18,000 people and has carried combat sports, concerts and live shows since.
